From a Village Spring to Rows of New Yards
Hydroseeding in Holly Springs is mostly about new ground. The town counted about 900 people in 1992 and nearly 25,000 by 2010, and the 2020 census found 41,239. Growth took off after Holly Springs built its first sewage plant in 1987, which opened farmland to subdivisions. Most lawns here are less than a few decades old, and many are on lots where the topsoil was scraped thin during building.
Springs, a stream and a small lake
The town is named for freshwater springs that feed a stream and a small lake, ringed by large holly trees, near Avent Ferry Road and Cass Holt Road. Spring-fed ground can stay damp well into summer. On lots with a seep or a wet corner, we grade for positive drainage first and, where needed, run a French drain before seeding, since grass in saturated soil roots poorly.
Water that comes from Jordan Lake
Holly Springs holds a 2 percent share of the Jordan Lake water supply pool. That lake is rated nutrient sensitive, and its rules push toward less fertilizer and stormwater runoff. We keep starter fertilizer in the hydroseed slurry at a measured rate and keep overspray off driveways and streets, where it would wash to a drain.
Industry and big pads
Novartis built a plant on 167 acres in the Holly Springs Business Park in 2006 to 2008, and Fujifilm Diosynth opened a plant in 2025. Large commercial pads like these need perimeter silt fence, inlet protection and fast cover on long, exposed slopes. That is the commercial side of our hydroseeding services.
Neighborhood lawns near the parks
Around Bass Lake Park and Sugg Farm Park, many yards are now old enough that the builder's first seeding has thinned out. Overseeding and lawn repair bring those back without starting over.

Holly Springs Questions
There is a wet spot in my yard that never dries. Will hydroseed fix it?
Not by itself. We fix the drainage first, sometimes with a French drain, and then seed.
Why go light on fertilizer in Holly Springs?
Runoff here can head toward Jordan Lake, which has nutrient limits. A measured starter dose is enough for a new lawn.
My builder lawn is five years old and patchy. Do I need to start over?
Usually not. Overseeding and spot repair are cheaper and work well on lawns that still have a base.
Do you handle silt fence on commercial lots in the business park?
Yes, including installation, upkeep and removal once grass is established.
