High Ground Between Two Streams
Hydroseeding in Zebulon happens on a ridge. The town sits on higher ground between the Little River and Moccasin Creek, at about 322 feet, and it is the easternmost town in Wake County. Water from almost any Zebulon lot drains toward one of those two streams, so the edges of town slope off in both directions.
Little River and its dam
The Little River borders Zebulon, and Little River Dam and Park has a dam, a waterfall, picnic areas and hiking trails. Wake County also counts the Little River as a future reservoir site, and the towns in its watershed, including Zebulon, have agreed to limit how it is developed. Soil running off a bare lot into that river would be working against a future water supply, so we treat sediment control as part of every seeding job here.
Annexation brought new land
In 1997 Zebulon annexed Wakefield, adding 2,115 acres. More recently the town has grown from 4,433 people in 2010 to 6,903 in 2020, with a planning estimate of 10,000 by 2023. Much of that new housing is on former farm and woodland, where grading leaves long, open slopes that need hydromulch or blankets until grass takes.
Farm country around town
Agriculture remains important around Zebulon's rural edges. Owners of larger lots and small acreages often want pasture or meadow seeding on the back portion and a mowable lawn near the house. Hydroseeding handles both in one visit with different mixes.
Climate
Winters are mild, with highs in the low 50s, and summers run to the upper 80s and low 90s with July and August the wettest months. Fall is usually the best window for cool-season lawns.

Zebulon Questions
Can you seed a lawn and a pasture on the same property?
Yes. We spray different mixes on each area in the same visit.
Why care about sediment on a small lot?
Zebulon drains to the Little River, a planned water supply, and runoff from many small lots adds up.
My back slope runs toward Moccasin Creek. What holds best?
A straw or coconut blanket, or bonded fiber matrix, holds better than seed and mulch alone on a long slope.
When should I schedule a fescue lawn in Zebulon?
Early fall is best, after the hot, wet July and August stretch.
